The Alaska Job
In 1996, when BMW was placing non running prototypes around the world in different places, to gauge public opinion of a revived MINI, Mike Hendrix worked at a mall where one was parked. For 2 years he walked past that car and dreamt of the day he would get one. Friday, August 25th, was his day! Mikes brother picked his car up from the dealer and delivered it to us, and we helped to transform this beautiful Hyper blue JCW MINI into his dream car, set up for Alaskan roads and driving conditions.

Friday, August 25th: MikeKendrix finally gets his Cooper!

“In addition to the JCW equipment, Mike chose an M7 DFIC,with ceramic coat and polished to a mirror finish, to keep the air charge as cool as possible. Alta blue silicone boots and blue Occ complete the color matching underhood treatment. There is CCC intake insulation wrap on the intake tubes, as well as a free flowing Alta CAI.

A lightweight aluminum skid plate from Cobalt as well as an M7 understrut system will help with the rough roads on the way home and in Alaska. A set of M7 srp plates on top of the struts will help prevent mushrooming of the towers.

A set of autometer gauges, perfectly matching the factory instruments, mounted in an Alta guage mount, keep track of boost and volts.

An Alta Rally Style light bar mounts 6 inch driving lights, yellow on the outers, white on the inners, to help see those Moose and Bear on the road when driving in the winter-it is dark there 23 hours a day in winter, you know!

A mini roof rack system and a Yakima rack complete the travel package that will allow mike to get his gear home.

The business end of the M7 DFIC includes a special scoop, designed to direct air fully into the I/C, perfectly matched to the factory paint by Prestige Bodyworks.
